ACQUA
a floating bathhouse using water as a primary material
Venice, Italy
This enigmatic floating object in the water hopes to bring back the notion of having a loving relationship with the water that makes up the city of Venice, that will lead to discoveries and new encounters with water in addition to a revival of historic practices and activities. A bathhouse that is reminiscent of the historical qualities of ancient terme and bath houses as places not only for bathing but for socialization and relaxation that is linked to the presence of water, this project is not just about encountering water but experiencing it, heightening the relationship in the city through a sensorial experience, that goes beyond the visual. Water is conceived as both a material and a phenomenon and provides different ways to experience and encounter water in order to enrich the relationship with the body at a human scale, thinking about water as a purposeful material and physical space and volume.
